Founded in 1898 by Salvatore Contini, the company is one of the oldest and most respected wineries in Sardinia. The winery is located in Cabras, in the western part of Sardinia. The town lies beautifully on the shores of the lake of the same name, surrounded by many historical and cultural buildings. Vernaccia di Oristano has always been the trademark of Azienda Contini, and this wine won the gold medal at the international wine fair in Milan in 1912 and 1913. Today, the founder's grandchildren and great-grandchildren dedicate themselves with the same dedication and perfection to the demands of a growing and increasingly sophisticated market. Since 1980, the range has been steadily expanded and now also includes dry white wines, rosé and red wines, mainly made from the grape varieties Cannonau and Nieddera (the oldest and rarest variety in Sardinia).
