The activity of the Varda family begins at the beginning of the 16th century in the town of Mezzolombardo, in the Trento area, and over the years is connected with the most important events in Trentino history.
In 1678, Leopold I, Emperor of Austria, Bohemia, and Hungary, granted Giovanni Battista de Varda, grappa producer and owner of vineyards and wine cellars, the noble title. Michele Dolzan began his research and training in the art of distillation at the beginning of the 18th century in the same cellars. This proud heritage is now continued by Luigi Dolzan.
