vinification

From mid-October, 9 hectares of vines are harvested in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba and Castiglione Falletto at 320 and 360 m above sea level. Traditional Barolo production, with fermentation and maceration of around 15 days at temperatures of 31-33 °C. The wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels and lasts at least 30 months.

Azienda Agricola Massolino Vigna Rionda was founded in 1896 by Giovanni Massolino’s great-grandfather. Now in its fourth generation, the family continues to produce high-quality wines. The winery’s outstanding vineyards and great dedication to production and grape preparation have made it one of the leading Barolo producers. In 1990, a new cellar was opened in Serralunga d'Alba, allowing the wines to be stored at controlled temperature and humidity. All the wines produced come from the winery’s own vineyards.
