grape varieties

70% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc

vinification

Harvesting and selection by hand. The individual grape varieties are fermented without the addition of pure yeast and matured individually. The maceration time is between 18 and 28 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques. Matured in barriques for 18 months. After blending the individual base wines, the wine rests in the bottle for another 6 months.

In the 1970s, Mauro Vannucci purchased the vineyards overlooking his house in the municipality of Piaggia. He was certain that the vineyards’ exposure to the sun and terroir were perfectly suited to producing great wines. As capacity and distribution expanded worldwide, his daughter joined the company as managing director. The winery consists of 16 hectares of land, 8 of which are planted with vines.
