The winery was founded in the 1970s by Santi Mantengoli. But it was only with the entry of his son Marco Mantengoli in 1997 that the winery experienced its upswing. Marco is a trained oenologist and knows perfectly how to bring his new ideas and modern vinification into the winery. La Rasina has now grown to a size of 45 ha. Of this, 11.5 ha are planted with vines and 4 ha with olive trees. Approximately 15,000 bottles of Rosso di Montalcino and 30,000 bottles of Brunello are produced annually.
