This is a wine with a strong, slightly bitter, tobacco-like aroma, which has ripe black and a little red berries with plum notes, as well as a hint of bacon, spicy tones and a hint of dried flowers. The taste is clear, firm, quite juicy and ripe, with a present, rather fine tannin, a lasting taste, some spice, smoky nuances, herbs in the background and a little salt. The wine has power, but also cooling elements, cedary tones, is still young, quite complex and rather compact. The finish is very good, firm, tart-juicy and spicy.

La Rasina

Die Kellerei wurde in den 70er Jahren von Santi Mantengoli gegründet. Aber erst mit dem Eintritt seines Sohnes Marco Mantengoli im Jahre 1997 erlebte die Kellerei ihren Aufschwung. Marco ist ausgebildeter Önologe und versteht es vorzüglich, seine neuen Ideen und die moderne Vinifikation in die Kellerei einzubringen. La Rasina ist mittlerweile auf eine Grösse von 45 ha angewachsen. Davon sind 11,5 ha mit Reben und 4 ha mit Olivenbäumen bepflanzt. Es werden jährlich rund 15'000 Flaschen Rosso di Montalcino und 30'000 Flaschen Brunello vinifiziert.
