Paolo Bosoni was born into a family with a long agricultural tradition. When asked today why he became a winemaker, he answers that he was born on September 25 during the grape harvest and grew up with bread, wine, and oil. In 1966, when he inherited the family farm and decided to focus primarily on viticulture, he founded Cantina Lunae. He was inspired by the city of Luni for the name, an ancient Etruscan and Greek port dedicated to the moon goddess, Selene. The vineyards of Tenuta Lunae stretch from the plain south of the Magra River to the Apuan Alps in the province of La Spezia, on the border between Liguria and Tuscany. The winery specializes in native grape varieties, with Vermentino among the whites, and alongside Sangiovese, Pollera Nera among the reds. The Vermentino Colli di Luni Etichetta Nera DOC has received the highest award of 3 Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso for the seventh consecutive year!
