The story of Podere 29 began with a mulberry tree, which was immortalized on the wine labels of the premium line (Gelso means mulberry in Italian). Giuseppe Marrano, owner and founder of the estate, spent long summer days as a child in the shade of the tree, enjoying its sweet fruits. On the 22 hectares of land, the late-ripening grape variety Nero di Troia, which originates from northern Apulia, is mainly cultivated. The traditional viticulture combined with modern cellar technology produces the typical Apulian deep red, full-bodied red wines, always endowed with rich fruit. In addition to viticulture, the family runs a small guesthouse.
