Founded in 1950 by Vincent Favre, Cave la Tornale has developed organically over the years. The first plots planted with Fendant, Pinot Noir, and Humagne Rouge were supplemented with new vineyards and crops, always strictly observing the requirements of the Chamoson terroir. The estate now has 8 hectares of its own vines and additionally purchases the harvest from about 10 hectares from winemakers in the municipalities of Chamoson and Ardon. By the way, the dialect word Tornallaz means Tournelle in French: a place where criminal matters were judged and settled in the Middle Ages. In Chamoson, it refers to a vineyard plot considered one of the best located.
