The Crati Valley is a valley between the Apennines and the Pollino Mountains. A flourishing vegetation characterizes this location. The Serracavallo winery owns 55 ha of land at an altitude of 600 meters. Of the 30 ha designated for viticulture, 15 ha are currently in use. The orientation of the vineyards towards the sea and the large temperature differences between day and night contribute to an exceptional grape quality. To improve the wines, in addition to the native Magliocco variety, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Riesling have also been planted. Thanks to the diligent efforts of Demetrio Stancati, the wines have been bottled under the newly created appellation - Terre di Cosenza DOP - since the 2012 vintage.
