Every year at a gala dinner, the different barrels are tasted blind. The best barrel is bottled as a single-varietal wine. Il Prescelto! Ruby red; the nose shows intense cherry, plum and tobacco notes. On the palate, the Merlot, limited to 300 bottles, is dry, balsamic , with ripe tannins.
