Champagne Clos du Moulin Brut Premier Cru Cattier in wooden box

The history of the Cattier family begins in 1625 in Chigny-les-Roses, where they planted vines. Since then, the winery has been passed down through 12 generations. Alexandre Cattier is today the thirteenth descendant who tends the vines and produces his own champagne. Under the guidance of Jean-Jacques Cattier, the brand has developed through hard work and passion. Most of Cattier's cellars are located beneath the family estate in Rilly-la-Montagne. They are over 150 years old and offer ideal conditions for bottle aging. With 119 steps on one side and 136 on the other, these cellars are among the deepest in Champagne. They were excavated on three levels with different vaulting styles: Gothic, Romanesque, and Renaissance. Our Brut Premier Cru matures there for over four years, although regulations only require 15 months. Our highest quality bottles even need over eight years to develop their unique aromas.
