Gaja Grappa Costa Russi

The Gaja winery was founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja – the great-grandfather of the current owner Angelo Gaja. Angelo is today undoubtedly the most internationally renowned winemaker in Italy. No other producer has been awarded the highest honor "Tre Bicchieri" by the prestigious wine guide Gambero Rosso as often. The specialist magazines Decanter and Wine Spectator have also named him "Man of the Year" multiple times.

His worldwide success is inseparably linked to his charismatic personality. His life's work resembles a goodwill tour in the name of his family's wines. Gaja's wines are deeply rooted in Piedmontese tradition, yet combine this with an uncompromising look towards modernity.

Today, the family business is run in the fifth generation by his daughters Gaia and Rossana as well as son Giovanni. The Gaja family's vineyards now extend beyond Piedmont to Tuscany and Sicily. But their heart still beats in the famous wine village of Barbaresco – where the unparalleled success story began.
