The wine presents a bright, lemon-yellow color with light golden reflections. On the nose, it unfolds an elegant bouquet of fresh, ripe citrus fruits, accompanied by delicate hints of pastry and a characteristic varietal note of tomato leaf, typical of Sauvignon Blanc. On the palate, it is broad and intense, with an enveloping body and a fruity, slightly buttery finish. The lively freshness of the Fiano provides balance and depth, giving the wine long-lasting persistence and good aging potential.

The wine initially matures for 12 months on the fine lees in barriques. After clarification and blending of the two wines, the wine matures for a further 6 months in barriques. This is followed by a further 12 months of aging in the bottle before the Collazzi Bianco goes on sale exclusively on Vergani shelves.

Collazzi

Carlo Marchi erwarb die Kellerei 1933. Das Gut liegt inmitten des Chianti Classico Gebiets und weitet sich über 390 ha Land aus. Mit Reben bepflanzt sind lediglich 35 ha und weitere 100 ha mit Olivenbäumen. Das Weingut gehört zur Familie Marchesi di Frescobaldi, einer der bekanntesten weinproduzierenden Familien Italiens, zu welcher auch die Tenuta di Ornellaia gehört. Collazzi wird jedoch unabhängig von der Gruppe geführt und kann sich deshalb ausnahmslos einem nachhaltigen Qualitätsdenken verpflichten. Es wird viel Wert auf schonende und selektive Arbeit im Rebberg gelegt, die Ernte erfolgt von Hand.
