La Segreta Red Sicily DOC Organic Planeta

In 1995, Alessio and Santi Planeta, together with their cousin Francesca, founded the Planeta winery in the Sicilian municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia. The project of the winemaking family from the Planeta winery includes six cellars. These are Ulmo in Sambuca di Sicilia, the Cantina Piccola and Cantina Grande in Menfi, Dorilli in Vittoria, Buonvini in Noto, and the Cantina Sciara Nuova in Castiglione di Sicilia on Mount Etna.
At the Planeta winery, emphasis is placed on planting all vineyard areas with the respective native grape variety. Thus, Nero d'Avola and Moscato are cultivated in the areas suitable for these grapes near Noto. Frappato grows in Vittoria, Grecanico in Sambuca and Menfi. On Etna, the Planeta winery planted the white Carricante grape. Through the consistent work of the oenologist Carlo Corino, the Planeta winery became a leading Italian wine producer within a few years.
